I often get this question from clients and colleagues: What is the one tool you cannot live without?
Besides email :)? (Still the killer app).
There is not ONE tool or application I cannot live without IN GENERAL, but there are tools that I cannot live without in categories of work. This week I’ll focus on the category of “listening”. Tools that help you understand what content is working with your audience on the platform(s) you care about. Next week? Social Media network management tools.
Without a doubt, CrowdTangle is the single most important tool that I use to help keep my clients on top of the social media race. CT allows me to create my own lists of facebook pages to monitor and then learn, in real time, what content is working RIGHT NOW on facebook and what is not.
So What? This gives me a window into what content is resonating with a specific targeted audience and then allows me to either A) create similar content for my clients or B) “newsjack” that content and make it relevant for my audience.
In a world where memes and content goes “viral” in minutes, being able to have a window into what content is ABOUT to go viral is critical for winning.
