What are Chatbots?
Chatbots are automated messaging between an organization and a customer. For example, I signed up for a Weather chatbot on Facebook Messenger that “chats” with me in the early morning and the early evening every day with the latest weather forecast.
Why the Meh?
So what? How is chatting in Facebook messenger any different than simply opening up my Google Now screen or searching for “weather” or getting a daily weather email forecast or … well, you get it. There is no difference.
Snapchat continues to crush it
On the other hand, Snapchat continues to crush it with video views. I loved this piece about the top brands on Snapchat. I recommend you follow them and see what these innovative brands are doing. I’m using it mostly to consume “snaps” or “stories” rather than snap chatting with my friends (none of my friends are using it!)
